BTA (Between The Arms) Hydration Bottle / Computer Mount
The popular Between the Arms (BTA) Hydration Bottle / Computer Mount is gaining a lot of attention in the triathlon community and I are proud to offer a solution that I believe to be the most aerodynamic and lightest component on the market today.
My product offers the least amount of frontal area of any BTA mount on the market. The computer be place directly in front of, or behind the water bottle, so no additional frontal area is added to your hydration system.
My BTA base plates work really well with any bottle cage including the new Speedfil Z4 (tm) system. If you are looking for the most solid BTA base plates on the market, it will be difficult to beat these.
With my BTA system, the computer (shown with a Garmin 500), can be placed behind the water bottle or in front of it if the bottle if reversed (the system is completely reversible). The computer mount system puts the computer close to the end of the bottle for a nice compact aerodynamic package. The lower portion of the computer mount plate is slotted to allow longer Garmin computers like the 510, 800, 810, 1000 to fit as well. The upper portion of the computer mount also has ~10mm of adjustment in a slot as well to allow the computer to be slightly higher for those that would like a higher position. The pictures below show the Garmin 500 mounted on my Trek Speed Concept Series 9 with an aerobar center distance of 85mm.
I am offering three different main mounting plate aerobar center distances to work with almost all aerobar distances on the market.
- Narrow Version: 7-10cm (70-100mm)
- Standard Version: 9-12cm (90-120mm)
- Wide Version: 10-13cm (100-130mm)
- Custom Widths up to 20cm (200mm)
Also, custom distances can be made on request, going all the way down to 5.5cm (55mm) center distance if needed.
All attachment hardware is aircraft quality stainless steel with all of the attachment nuts being the nylock style to resist any lossening due to road vibrations. The complete system attaches to the aerobar extensions using four plastic zip ties.
The complete system includes all the required fasteners and zip ties, as well as an extra set of hardware and zip ties (total of 8 zip ties included). The zip ties I supply are very high quality and high strength and incorporate stainless steel inner tooth plates.
The standard setup works for the Garmin twist mount system used for the 200, 500, 510, 520, 800, 810, 1000 cycling computers. This mount also works with the 310XT and 910XT computers, just by rotating the computer mount 90 degrees.
The great thing about my system is that I use the standard Garmin (tm) mount and modify it to attach to the carbon as shown, this ensures that the computer mounting remains as Garmin intended.
I am also offering the computer mount plates to work with the older side slide Garmin mount system as well as the new Timex cycling computer mount system.
This mount system is produced with nine layers of 3K plain carbon fiber for the base plate and upper computer mount, and eleven layers for the lower computer mount plate. And like my crank covers, I do not clear coat these parts for those that like the stealth appearance of plain carbon. And like the crank covers, applying a silicone base shine spray will give the system a nice gloss finish. The complete system is amazingly light ~at 65-70 grams.
Cost for the Complete System: $110 (free shipping in the USA, $15 shipping outside of the USA)
Additional Custom Shape Shown
This mount was designed to be used on an aerobar extension that only have 35-40mm straight section for mounting. This is the type of mount I have been making for the Specialized Shiv Aerobar system as shown in the pictures below.
